Mosaics

Rebecca and I went to a kids mosaic class during the last school holidays and made these - they were easier than I thought they would be. Have resisted the urge not buy tiles and grout - so far anyway! Rebeccas is a butterfly and mine is a flower.

Well its a bit wet here today but hope everyone has a good day.

Happy Feet

I love this pic of Grandmas slippers. Grandma recently turned 90 and we had a awesome weekend catching up with family - we had a good old fashioned sing song on the Friday night and then a lunch on Saturday. It was great catching up with everyone - a typical Thornton do! Grandma has invited us all back for her 100th. Go Grandma Go Grandma.

Rugby!

Well you know your addicted to scrapbooking when you hang the clothes in anticipation of taking a photo for a page! lol I had the task last weekend to wash the rugby jerseys and yes I did hang them with the thought I could scrap it! What does this mean?? That I'm an addict? Yes, sadly it is true! And yes the number 4 jersey was worn by Callum and the other two were often worn by James!

Both the boys played for Te Puke Sports since we arrived here. Practising twice a week then the game on Saturday morning - always 9am which has been quite good as we are out early and home by lunchtime. The furthest away they have played was in Kati Kati which took us an hour and half to travel from where we are. It was an early start that day as they boys had to be at the field by 8.15. This is Callums second year playing and earned the nickname "bull", his most prized possessions after a rugby match were his bruises! James has enjoyed the team membership of the game and the other boys but wasn't so keen to get in there and knock them all over like Callum. Callum has had 4 Forward Player of the Day over the season.

The Bay of Plenty Steamers are the local team for the Air NZ Cup and the boys are keen converts! Although Callum says he if there is a HB vs BOP game he will support HB (he's loyal!) They won tickets through PGG Wrightsons to have a practise and a game with the Steamers so we went along to one of their practice nights and they came home with signed Rubgy balls and excitement of meeting the players. Callum loves to watch any rugby game on tv and aspires to being an All Black.

A butterfly Challenge!

Well today I was challenged by Heather to do something with a Butterfly so here is my challenge. I tried all day to get out into my scrap room but it wasn't until about 3pm before I got there and did this. The other one was a layout that I started at SENZ 06 with a Cricut machine. Thought I would finish it with a pic. Hope everyone has been having a good day.

Rebeccas Lamb

Heres a couple of pics I took from our front veranda - as you can see I get a gorgeous view of the sea. The track you see is going up to a part of the farm.

This shot is one of the cows walking to the cow shed. Also taken from the veranda.

Rebecca wanted a lamb for Ag Hort Day at school, shes been wanting one for the last couple of years at Pet Day but we hadn't really been able to get one. Here the school puts you on a list and local farmers ring to say that they have a orphaned lamb and we got the call a week and half a go. So now we have Scruffy who Rebecca thinks is wonderful and shes been very good at getting up early before school and feeding him. Shes done well at mixing the milk which was around $40 for the bag!

I'm having a Doodle Phase!

Thought I would post some of my layouts. I'm loving doodling at the moment - since going to CC07 and Rhonda Farrars class. Have always doodled but would never had put it on a page but her class was very inspirational. Also have posted my finished Mark the Page layout from Wendy Redshaws class at CC.

Beautiful day here today - gonna get lots of washing done!

Hope everyone is having a good day.

The Start!

Well here I am - I've decided to keep a sorta journal in the form of a blog! It might be a bit boring for most. I'm scrapping this afternoon as a promise to Rebecca and we're in the scrap room and the boys keep coming and going - in the end I said to them "do you want to scrap too?" "Yep" they both said so I rumbled around in the many boxes of stuff and found some page bits for them to do. Its been a bit of a funny old day - it rains off and on quite heavy at times. Spoke with mum and dad this morning they had a bit of a storm at Mt Bruce with a lot of wind. The young boys were blown off their bikes and the neighbours lost some of the iron on the shed. Well nearly time to go and do the calves.
